Out of School Time Programs

The Dallas Park and Recreation Department offers Out of School Time (OST) Programs at many of our recreation centers and DISD partnering schools. Our OST programs offer academic and recreational programs for children between the ages of *5-12 years. Out of School Time  Programs are operated in conjunction with DISD calendar.

(*5yrs of age on or before September 1, 2022).

Program Benefits

By participating in our OST program, your child will be exposed to a wide variety of activities that will help broaden their interest and challenge them to learn and master new skills; thus increasing self-esteem. In addition, children enrolled in an afterschool program often have better social skills and improved grades as well as live a healthier more active lifestyle.

The Dallas Park and Recreation Department offers Out of School Time Programs (OST) at 35 Recreation Centers for children between *5-12 years of age. Transportation provided at select sites. Program hours at all sites are 3pm - 6pm on regular school days. 

(*5yrs of age on or before September 1, 2021).

Recreation Center Out of School Time programs are FREE to City of Dallas Residents and $50 per month for non residents. 

Activities

In addition to a healthy snack and homework assistance, youth will experience a variety of daily activities including arts, sports, fitness, life skills, games. Our OST is designed to offer effective academic enrichment, physical fitness, nutritional and life skill programs to challenge children and make learning fun.
