[ARCHIVED] FIND YOURSELF AT WHITE ROCK LAKE

White Rock Map QR Code

The Dallas Park & Recreation Department and For the Love of the Lake have partnered to bring an exciting new amenity to White Rock Lake Park! Beginning January, 2022, there will be a new map of White Rock Lake that can be accessed by using a QR Code on a mobile device or desk top computer. This map is interactive and both identifies and shows the location of important points of interest, trails, parking lots, bathrooms and drinking fountains. Additionally, there are features for finding your exact location, tracking distance as well as links for the many facilities, points of interest and businesses at the lake. District 9 Park Board Member Maria Hasbany saw a need for this type of interactive map at White Rock Lake Park and approached For the Love of the Lake to provide funding for this project. For the Love of the Lake has been a longtime supporter of the lake both financially and with litter clean up. With the assistance of Park & Recreation staff and a graphic design firm, the map was developed to include everything from park entrances to pavilion locations. The QR code is attached to each of the 911 markers around the lake and on the trails. As a pilot program, we are hopeful that it will be well received and continue to evolve and improve. This new mapping system is also being considered for other trails and parks in the City of Dallas.
