The 13.3 acres of land for the Singing Hills recreation center was purchased by the Park and Recreation department from A. A. Aaron, Jr. in 1971 for the price of $50,365.00. The center was built in 1973 and named for the community. A new facility was constructed and the new Singing Hills Recreation Center was opened in 2020.
