New Look Welcomes Golfers Back To Historic Oak Cliff Course

(DALLAS) –  Mayor Eric Johnson and Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn R. Arnold will showcase new improvements and amenities recently completed at Cedar Crest Golf Course. The iconic Oak Cliff course reopens after undergoing months-long renovations that feature the addition of Legends Plaza, a homage to Walter Hagen, 1927 PGA Champion, and Charles Sifford, 1954 UGA Negro National Open Champion.

Golfers will enjoy new greens, bunkers, updated natural grass driving range and a stylish banquet area. A.W. Tillinghast – known as the Picasso of golf architect – designed the historic 18-hole course that was the site of the 1926 Dallas Open and 1927 PGA Championship. In 1954, Cedar Crest hosted the UGA Negro National Open and USGA Public Links Championship.
