Dallas Park and Recreation Department is taking steps to address both short- and long-term care and maintenance of Harry S. Moss Park soccer fields. Safety concerns with existing lighting structures have created the need to close the park’s soccer fields. The department is overseeing the removal of these lighting structures whose anchoring systems are failing because of age and weather conditions. We anticipate resuming daytime athletic play this summer. During this transition, Dallas Park and Recreation Athletics and Reservations is working to relocate athletic user groups to other sites. Call Athletics and Reservations at (214) 670-8740 for information.
The removal of the light poles at Moss Park has moved very efficiently this week. All the light poles have been taken down, and our Park Maintenance Facilities crews are working swiftly to remove the poles and bases from the park and fill in the holes with new soil. We are still anticipating having fields ready for day games this summer.
