  1. BioBlitz

    September 1, 2020 - September 30, 2020 @ All 397 City of Dallas Parks!

Calling all master collectors, young and old! We need your help in finding pollinators in our parks. You might even find a species never discovered here before! Thanks to the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation, the Dallas Park and Recreation Department is hosting a BioBlitz for the whole month of September! Like Pokemon Go, we use iNaturalist, an app to take pictures of plants, insects and animals to see what wildlife is in the park and it provide us with more information about pollinators, which are essential to our ecosystem. This information will help us understand how we can better protect pollinators and other important wildlife in our community. To participate, download the iNaturalist app and join the “Dallas Park and Recreation Department: NRPA 2020 “Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz”” project. Visit any of our 397 parks and begin making observations!
