Come to the 28th KwanzaaFest and you can enjoy live music, endless vendors, free prizes and free medical services, Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, 10 a.m-7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, 11 a.m.-6 pm. The 2018 KwanzaaFest components include; HealthFest, ParrishLand/KidFest, Live Performing Artists, Vendors, the Prize Center and the 5K Beat Obesity Walk and Run.

    Take pride in your community and help the Dallas Park and Recreation Department "Branch Out" by planting trees to improve the tree canopies in neighborhood parks. The tree species are identified by our park professionals and will be supplied by the Dallas Park and Recreation Department. Groups and individual volunteers needed! To learn more about the Branching Out program, call our Park Maintenance Operations.

  1. Vounteer at the 10th Annual Home for the Holidays with District 8

    December 8, 2018, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Janie C Turner Recreation Center

    Help spread joy, friendship, and a warm holiday luncheon! The 10th Annual Home for the Holidays hosted by Council Member Tennell Atkins, District 8, and DISD Adopt-A-Family program will take place at Janie C. Turner Recreation Center. We need volunteers to assist in providing a warm and festive holiday celebration for families in need. Community guests will be served a luncheon, meet with community leaders, take holiday photos, and other fun and festive activities. Volunteer are needed from 9-2pm, duties may include: Assisting with parking, bus drop offs, and VIP guests Registering guests and escorting VIP guests Photo Booth assistant Serving Holiday Luncheon Assisting with Door Prizes and Gift Bags Event set up/break down
