There is nothing like it in the world. The State Fair of Texas fills Fair Park with Texas-sized fun Sept. 28 through Oct. 21. Say "howdy" to Big Tex and join the annual celebration of all things Texan. Commemorating the significant Texans and Texas innovations that have helped influence our current way of life and looking forward to the state’s next era of pioneers, the Fair's 2018 is "Celebrating Texas Innovation." At 24 consecutive days, the State Fair of Texas is the longest-running fair in the nation, as well as one of the largest. Through its rich and lengthy history, it remains evident that the State Fair serves not only as an annual celebration but as a unique destination that brings people from all walks of life together to create lifelong memories.

The AT&T Red River Showdown between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns takes place in Cotton Bowl Stadium, Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018. Kick-off time has yet to be announced. More than 100,000 people travel to the State Fair for the AT&T Red River Showdown game between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners. The game, played in Cotton Bowl Stadium since 1929, is an iconic staple of the State Fair. Game tickets are purchased through each university’s athletic office. A ticket to the 2018 Red River Showdown includes admission to the State Fair of Texas on game day – Saturday, October 6, 2018.
