    Holiday Wonder debuts this winter as a new, unforgettable, family-friendly event in Dallas’ Fair Park. Holiday Wonder Dallas is an outdoor, walk-through winter wonderland created with holiday-themed Chinese lanterns. Visitors will marvel at more than two million lights bringing to life holiday favorites in giant illuminated eye-catching displays, including Santa Claus, beautiful floating swans, perennial holiday favorites, and more. In addition to the magical light displays, visitors will enjoy attractions that provide opportunities for unforgettable holiday memories: the two-story Santa's Arctic Slide; snowball throwing; music, dance, and a world-class acrobatics show.

  3. S. M. Wright Foundation's Christmas in the Park at Fair Park

    At the annual S.M. Wright Christmas in the Park at Fair Park, thousands of families will gather in the celebration of the Christmas spirit for necessities such as coats, clothes, food, a toy or bike to help make a child’s Christmas wish come true. The goal is to host a complete Christmas experience to between 25,000- 40,000 less fortunate individuals and families during this time of giving back. This special event plays host to nearly 1,800 volunteers who share the holiday season with their community. Want to learn to sew, or do you like sewing in groups? Whether you sew or quilt by hand or machine, if creating is your passion, Project Sew is for you! We will feature monthly sewing projects from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Bring your sewing machine, supplies & lunch to sit & sew with us for all or part of the day! Sewing experts with the Plano ASG are available to answer your questions and assist. Open sewing available! New dates to be announced soon for 2018, so stay tuned!

  5. Fair Park Walking Tour with Dallas Center For Architecture

    Join us for an hour-long walking tour of Fair Park on Wednesday, December 20th at noon. First established for the Dallas State Fair in 1886, Fair Park is one of Dallas’ greatest assets and has been named a National Historic Landmark. In partnership with the Dallas Park and Recreation Department, the Dallas Center for Architecture presents hour-long lunchtime walking tours of this Art Deco gem on the third Wednesday of each month. They are free and open to the public. Free parking is available at Gate 3 by Fair Park Women's Building. In 1936, Fair Park was transformed for the Texas Centennial Exposition. Architect George Dahl and score of architects and craftsmen created what is today the finest collection of Art Deco exhibition buildings in the world. On the tour, you’ll learn about recent and ongoing efforts to preserve and transform this architectural gem.

  6. Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl - Utah Utes vs. West Virginia Mountaineers

    December 26, 2017, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM @ Fair Park Cotton Bowl Stadium

    The eighth annual Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl will be played on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium on the grounds of Fair Park hosting Utah Utes vs. West Virginia Mountaineers! The Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl is the first bowl game in the country to honor First Responders. Representatives to be honored during the game include firefighters, police and EMS personnel. Tributes take place at the beginning of each quarter and presentations are made throughout the event. The pre-game fan fest also brings together first responder groups from all over North Texas, with a tailgate outside Cotton Bowl Stadium, showcasing hardware from participating units and community organizations. Parking: $20; RV Parking: $50. Under 2 years of age do not require ticket, but must sit in parent's lap.
