    EarthX is the world's largest annual forum for sharing the latest initiatives, discoveries, research, innovations, and corporate practices that are reshaping our world. This three-day event will be held April 20-22, 2018, in Fair Park. The Expo features a range of activities to enjoy such as interactive scavenger hunts, an Outdoor Adventure Zone including scuba diving and tree climbing, Goat Yoga, EarthX Solar, Tiny Homes showcase, a Green Auto Show and more. In 2017, EarthX hosted more than 900 organizations, 250 speakers, 61 features and film showcasing green practices to an audience of 116,000.

  4. Friends of Oak Cliff Parks Wildflower Walk

    Join us for a walk through the native prairie meadow at the Kiest Conservation Area in Oak Cliff. Our guide is former Master Naturalist, respected guest speaker on native plants and Studio Outside’s in-house horticultural expert, landscape architect Brian Halsell. The conservation area is a 78 acre tract of land with an island of native Texas prairie. Over 150 wildflower species were identified by master naturalist legend Jim Varnum six years ago. While you’re there, visit the newly opened mile long Meadow Loop Trail. Everyone is invited to attend, and there is no charge. Closed toed shoes are recommended. Water and insect repellant will be provided. Note: Do not park at the Tennis Center / Conservation Area. Instead you will need to go another quarter mile to the intersection of Hampton Rd and Kiest Blvd and enter the parking area (off Hampton) at the southeast corner of that intersection.     Part Dallas food fest, part live chef cooking competition, Dallas Observer's Iron Fork returns to Centennial Hall at Fair Park on Wednesday, April 25. Iron Fork offers guests unlimited food samples from more than 45 Dallas restaurants, beer/wine/cocktail tastings, and Iron Fork's Chef Challenge, which pits two Dallas chefs against one another in a cook-off. This event will most likely sell out in advance so waiting to purchase your ticket at the door is not advised. 21+ over.

  7. King Racing Group Thursday Night Crits

    Returning again for 2018 are the Thursday Night Crit Racing at Fair Park every Thursday evening from March 8th - September 13th at 5:30 PM. Pre-registration closes Wednesday's at 10 p.m. From I-30, East of Downtown, Exit 2nd Ave./Parry St. (Exit 47). Continue into Fair Park from Gate 5. Every racer is REQUIRED to have chip timing available to purchase online or rent onsite for $3 a day.

  9. 2018 City Nature Challange - BioBlitz (Crawford Memorial Park)

    The Dallas Park and Recreation Department is participating in the "2018 DFW City Nature Challenge" and we need help from all of our Citizen Scientist! Be a part of the largest Citizen Science biological survey efforts in the City of Dallas. Our goal through the City Nature Challenge - BioBlitz event is to contribute 10,000 observations to the overall 2018 DFW City Nature Challenge. We are hosting 3 separate events (Crawford Park, LB Houston, & Emerald Lake Park) where participants will use their smart phones to help collect observations of different plants, animals, and insects found in these parks that have very unique natural features. Come learn about nature, and help record the biological diversity in our city's parks and improve natural resource management decisions. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for going into the woods. Please come with iNaturalist app loaded on your smart device.

    Get Kidz Fit Fest is a free, fun-filled extravaganza in Fair Park's Centennial Hall. You and your family will learn about wellness and nutrition and will find a range of lifestyle activities that can benefit your family's health and fitness. Presented by the Dallas Area Coalition to Prevent Childhood Obesity (DACPCO), this expo is designed to educate children and their families on wellness and nutrition while engaging them in a range of healthy lifestyle activities. Attendees learn about nutrition and exercise through healthy cooking demonstrations and sporting activities that include: Rock-climbing, Obstacle Course, Basketball, Golf, Tennis, Rowing, Jump Roping, Aerobics/Zumba, Volleyball, Soccer, Strength & Conditioning and more! At booths, stages and Fitstops, a diverse group of volunteers and sponsors provide hands-on opportunities for kids to learn by doing, experiencing simple and fun ways that families can incorporate physical activity and nutritious eating into day-to-day life.

  11. Dallas Marshals vs. Duke City Gladiators - Indoor Arena Football

    A great new addition to 2018 at Fair Park, Texas will be the Dallas Marshals Professional Arena Football Team who will play their entire 2018 season in the Fair Park Coliseum! The Dallas Marshals are members of the Champions Indoor Football league (CIF). There are ten other teams besides the Marshals in the league including teams from North Dakota, New Mexico, Missouri, Nebraska, Illinois, Kansas, and Iowa. Owner, Bruce Badgett; General Manager, Floyd Smith; and Coach Larry Hendrix have as their mission, “to bring high quality, family fun, and affordable professional football to the fans of the Dallas Metroplex.” Upcoming home game will be Texas Revolution on May 5th, so mark your calendars now!   12. Dog Bowl

    April 29, 2018, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Cotton Bowl Stadium at Fair Park

    On April 29 from 1-5 p.m., spoil your four-legged fur ball with an afternoon of doggy delights inside Fair Park’s Cotton Bowl Stadium. With Dog Bowl at the Cotton Bowl, Dallas’ most historic football field will transform into a super-sized dog park for canines of all sizes to romp and run unleashed. Local dog rescue groups, clubs, and pet related vendors will be located along the sidelines with pet products and information. Water stations and a giant “dip and sip” splash bowls will keep canines cool and quenched, while humans will have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments (including beer) and other concessions. Owners will be asked to observe all current City of Dallas Dog Park policies while at Fair Park. Dog Bowl is hosted by Friends of Fair Park, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
