The Dallas Park and Recreation Department is one of the largest municipal park systems in the nation and provides for the management, supervision, coordination, and implementation of an array of leisure service opportunities, including such organized activities as athletics, sports, arts, crafts, drama, physical fitness, music, and aquatics, utilizing recreation centers, athletic fields, swimming pools, open space, schools, and special facilities.

Conservation - Recreation services has a critical in the role of preserving natural resources that have real economic benefits for communities by connecting children to nature, and providing education and programming that helps communities engage in conservation practices. Health and Wellness - Recreation Services provides a variety of programs and services to assist in living a healthier lifestyle and combat our countries challenges of poor nutrition, hunger, obesity, and physical inactivity. Social Equity - Recreation Services provides universal access to public parks and recreation programs. Our team works hard to ensure that the members of the communities we serve have y have access to the resources and programs available.
The Best Buy Teen Tech Center is an innovative, creative, out-of-school learning space where young people work with adult mentors to develop new skills, explore their own ideas, and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology.
